How a salesperson presents the content has more impact than the content itself

Don’t believe me? Well, let me tell you a true story that happened at a conference in Darwin with a hundred people in the audience.

Many years ago an academic lady refuted this claim, thinking her knowledge of her unique topic was enough to captivate the audience. So at a public speaking forum, she decided to prove me wrong by wearing nothing but a towel when she presented (not sure if she wore anything underneath…)

The audience, understandably, could not concentrate on her words as they were so focused on her (lack of) attire. When the audience was questioned later, none of them could recall what she spoke about.

Now I’m sure you won’t consider doing anything quite like this, but it makes the point. If you’re feeling overwhelmed about an upcoming sales presentation, you don’t need to throw in the towel just yet.
