Why understanding meeting etiquette protocols streamlines your meetings

Does your organisation have an accepted and acknowledged way of communicating in meetings? If so, are the standards formally written in a document called the Meeting Ground Rules, and they’re well-known and accepted as best practices for everyone who works on or in your meetings?

If not, it’s wise to implement some. Ground Rules will give your organisation a clearer direction on how to handle certain behaviours and situations in a meeting. As ground rules are decided by the leaders and teams, their presence helps to minimise conflict as accepted behavioural standards are known by all.

When the chair and attendees rise to the level that is set by the Ground Rules, others will follow their lead.
