Strategic Planning Facilitator Perth
“I don’t simply facilitate discussions. I watch the thinking. I watch the relationships. I watch the energy.”
Helping Leadership Teams Think Better, Decide Better and Move Forward Together
A strategic planning workshop should do more than produce a document.
It should create clarity.
It should challenge assumptions.
It should encourage honest conversations that people may not have been having.
Most importantly, it should leave everyone moving in the same direction.
That is where I can help.
For more than 40 years I have been helping leadership teams, boards and organisations navigate important conversations and turn good ideas into practical action.
Not by telling them what they should think.
By helping them think better together.
Every Organisation Already Has the Answers
One of the biggest misconceptions about strategic planning is that the facilitator arrives with the answers.
I don’t.
The expertise is already in the room.
My role is to unlock it.
I ask the questions people haven’t thought to ask.
I notice patterns that others may not see.
I help people connect ideas, challenge assumptions and build on each other’s thinking.
Very often, the breakthrough comes not because someone had a brilliant idea, but because the conversation finally went where it needed to go.
Seeing the Whole Picture
When I facilitate, I often think of myself as a hawk soaring above the landscape.
From above, a hawk sees the whole picture.
It notices where the conversation has been, where it is heading and what may have been overlooked.
Then, when something important appears, it can focus instantly on a single point.
That is how I facilitate.
I am constantly moving between the big picture and the smallest detail.
One moment we may be discussing long-term strategic direction.
The next, we might pause to explore a single comment that reveals an important opportunity or hidden concern.
Both matter.
Great strategy depends on seeing the forest without missing the trees.
Managing More Than the Conversation
A successful strategic planning workshop is not just about managing time.
It is about managing energy.
Every room has energy.
Sometimes it is enthusiastic.
Sometimes cautious.
Sometimes tired.
Sometimes resistant.
One of my most important roles is recognising those shifts and responding to them.
Knowing when to challenge.
When to pause.
When to ask a different question.
When to inject humour.
When to move the group into smaller discussions.
When to step back and allow silence to do its work.
Good facilitators manage the agenda.
Great facilitators manage the energy that allows good thinking to happen.
Every Workshop Is Designed Around Your Organisation
No two organisations face the same challenges.
That is why every strategic planning workshop is designed specifically for your people and your objectives.
Workshops may explore:
Vision and future direction
Strategic priorities
Organisational values
Emerging opportunities
Risks and challenges
Stakeholder expectations
Governance
Decision making
Team alignment
Action planning
The outcome is never simply another strategic plan.
The outcome is a leadership team that understands where it is going and is committed to getting there together.
Why Organisations Choose David Price
Clients tell me they value more than my facilitation skills.
They value my ability to read the room.
To ask the question that changes the conversation.
To balance participation with progress.
To create an environment where people feel comfortable contributing honestly while still moving towards practical decisions.
My background in leadership, governance, communication and meeting effectiveness allows me to see connections that might otherwise be missed.
That broader perspective often helps organisations move beyond the obvious and uncover opportunities that had been hiding in plain sight.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you facilitate strategic planning workshops in Perth?
Yes. I work with organisations throughout Perth and Western Australia and regularly facilitate workshops across Australia.
Will you tell us what our strategy should be?
No. Your strategy belongs to your organisation.
My role is to guide the thinking, challenge assumptions, ask insightful questions and help your leadership team develop a strategy they genuinely understand and support.
How long should a strategic planning workshop be?
That depends on your objectives. Some organisations benefit from a focused half-day workshop, while others prefer a full day or a series of planning sessions.
Can you work with boards as well as executive teams?
Absolutely. I regularly facilitate strategic planning with boards, executive leadership teams and mixed governance groups, ensuring every participant has the opportunity to contribute meaningfully.
What makes your approach different?
I don’t simply facilitate discussions.
I watch the thinking.
I watch the relationships.
I watch the energy.
By continually moving between the big picture and the fine detail, I help groups have conversations they simply would not have had on their own.
Let’s Create the Conversation That Shapes Your Future
The quality of your strategy will never exceed the quality of the conversations that create it.
If your leadership team is ready to step back from the daily pressures, think more deeply and build genuine commitment around the future, I’d welcome the opportunity to help.
Together, we’ll create more than a strategic plan.
We’ll create clarity, alignment and momentum.
